Tasmanian Travels Part Three: Attacked by a Tassie Tiger!

March 27, 2012

The Tassie tiger is alive and well and lives at Brickendon Colonial Farm Village, just outside of Longford, Tasmania…

Brickendon's own Tassie Tiger

OK, so actually it is just a tabby cat. But I’m sure you will agree that it is a very photogenic tabby cat…

Much like a tiger, puss is extremely fit and agile. See the brick chimney in the photo below? Tabby followed us into that building and proceeded to show off by jumping into the fireplace then leaping a substantial way up the inside of the chimney…

And another point in favour of classifying kitty as a tiger is that it is rather vicious. Having had enough patting, it decided it wanted to play, which involved grabbing onto my shoulder, and somewhat savaging my upper arm with razor claws!

Shortly after mauling my arm, tabby attacks his/her own paws and tail

But tabby still wanted to be friends, and continued to follow us around the farm…

Lucky I like cats…

Particularly tabby cats that like to strike a pose!

Looks so much like my tiger of a cat. Is there such a thing as the NSW Tiger?

I think we used to look after a Melbourne Tiger at one stage, Clareville.
